You might very well be the first person ever to read this blog. Since we’ve just met, and I don’t want to be rude, I should probably go ahead and introduce myself. I’m a Finnish girl on my twenties currently living and studying in Canada. You can call me Heli – that is my name after all. I kid you not, heli as a helicopter (at least rather than heli as helium if you wonder about the pronunciation).
What you’ve just stumbled upon is nothing less than the grand beginning – read as “pathetic attempt” – of my journey as a blogger. I crated this blog to inspire both you and me to let go of our fears and dive head first into an adventure.
Yesterday, I got an ambitious idea to try and earn 25k during the upcoming year for the benefit of a non-profit youth network called The European Youth Parliament (EYP). I’m hoping next year to become a private funder for one of the many events organised by EYP. This grand idea is what initially sparked me to start a blog. I want to document my journey because I know that making promises to someone else – even if they were merely a random online follower – is the best way to actually stick to one’s goals.
As you might know, gathering 25 000 out of nowhere is not the simplest task for a full time student. All the more reason for me to give it a try since I just love doing absurd things. And what about saving money for myself?! Well, I’ve come to the terms with the fact that I really don’t need all that much right now. My happiness resonates from helping others and I really want to give something back to EYP which has already given me so much!
Besides documenting my progress, I’m going to share posts about my other absurd adventures and the little things that give me energy and happiness in everyday life. If I managed to spark your interest, stick around and see how my little project turns out.
Have a splendid day!
